Pros

Young team so it can be a lot of fun at times. Good opportunities to work on fun projects. I personally had a lot of creative freedom when it came to creating work which I was very grateful for! 'Unlimited Holiday' policy (though there are some downsides to this)

Cons

I think the biggest issue was working long hours and really low pay for industry standards. I would say that the majority of the team earns between 20k-14k and this includes graduates and some people with extensive experience and aged between 19-25. There were a couple of us who generally had an average of 12 hour days and 'overtime' or work over the weekend were not paid for. A lot of the time employees would work into the early hours of the morning - (some on or into their birthday's as well) I've also had senior leadership make contact with me over WhatsApp during late at night regarding projects which can be quite anxiety-inducing. There aren't huge amounts of room to progress - granted it is a small company at the moment - however, there isn't much talk of what roles look like further down the line and there is often the promise of progression and pay rises but often just stops at a conversation and there isn't any movement or action plans going forward.

Pros

I joined the company as someone who really wanted to get better at film making and creative in general. Most of us at perspective are editors, which is the epicentre of all filmmaking. Therefore with the right attitude I was really able to push myself and become better at the skill. As someone who is a complete rookie, it's hard for me to get hired elsewhere. Perspective frequently takes talented passionate filmmakers and provides them with opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be available to them. The company culture is second to none. It's really different to your ad agency where I had experience on the account management side of things. The structural hierarchy doesn't translate to when we all hang out socially, which we do often as a group. It feels like a group of mates doing work together, which is really unique for an institution that works with clients as big as theres.

Cons

As with any growing startup there are teething problems. Almost everyone at the company had the right attitude towards the growth barring the odd individual.

Pros

An awesome bunch of talented young creatives. Fun and exciting work environment with plenty of opportunities to work on projects of all kinds. Education is seen as an important factor, so regular lunch and learn sessions are held for employees to further develop industry knowledge and skills. Clear level system which is transparent across the company and allows employees to work towards their next step of career development. Unlike many production houses, the working day is only 8 hours. An unlimited holiday scheme operates which provides employees flexibility when booking holiday. Weekend work is occasionally needed which is paid at a pro rata day rate. Overall, a great place to work, learn and interact with a group of amazing people!

Cons

As with most young companies, pay rates are lower than industry standards, but an equity scheme is offered to employees whilst they are at the company which is a rare thing to find elsewhere.
