Pros

When I started PetSmart really had a culture which was focused on the well being of pets and pet parents, particularly the associates at the store locations.

Cons

After the buy out and privatization of the company much of the staff changes, the leadership changed. As the company transitioned through the change from public to private, much of the focus turned to mechanic of the business and running the business "by the numbers". As the privatization happened in the early part of 2015 many HQ staff were let go and many others subsequently left over the ensuing months.

Pros

If you have experience they can pay very well considering the size of the company. Depending on which store you are in, they can be pretty good at fostering a good environment and culture.

Cons

Company is primarily focused on sales and not customer experience. So expect a lot of metrics and hounding customers. Company is trying to be technologically forward but continues to neglect to invest in the technology. So there’s updates every week crashes every week with no communication around it.
