New CMO will burn bridges, doesn't know digital, and doesn't care about employees - Digital Media Philips Employee Review

Pros

My first couple of years were great at Philips. Great products, work life balance was awesome. Then came a new CMO.

Cons

New CMO was let go of B2B of a big shampoo company that she loves boosting about working at. When you ask the industry - they say she killed the business. She reorged the marketing department and they are now losing 2-3 people a week. Every person who had talent and history realized they were cut off and being forced out by the new CMO and left. The culture is awful - everyone talks behind each others backs, it is a woman's club (teams may have 10 women and 2 men on a business that sells men's razors!!), and all fun employee appreciation events were canceled. All career paths were cut and succession plans were let go.

It is definitely regrettable to hear that you feel a lot about the culture has changed in in a negative way. Please know that our teams do read the feedback on here - so they can refer to it at a later point when needed, and look into it. Thanks again for sharing your open and honest view on the situation.

Pros

Philips still has good people, meaningful healthcare technology, and a strong brand name. Many employees care deeply about the customers, the products, and doing quality work.

Cons

The company culture has gone downhill. Management has become increasingly reliant on spreadsheet-driven decision making that often has little connection to real field conditions, employee workload, or customer impact. Priorities and goals change constantly, creating a desperate, reactive environment where employees are not given enough time to adjust before leadership shifts direction again. Morale suffers because teams are expected to execute against moving targets while leadership treats unrealistic planning as an execution problem.
