      Pretty good for Netherlands - Senior Software Engineer Philips Employee Review

      Pros

      Easy life, people there don't do much, lots of meetings in which a lot of time is lost and burnt. If you want an easy life where you will get bored out of your mind and are able to take it then this is for you. Mediocre pay although not bad for Netherlands.

      Cons

      No career path, managers with few exceptions are dinosaurs with no idea of modern people management nor project management and software development. A very inflexible company that is dying because people are afraid to reform, to change, to keep up with modern times but not lose core and very valuable conservative values -- not all new is necessarily good.

      Pros

      The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

      Cons

      Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
