Pros

Chance for Engineering grads to understand human anatomy to a greater detail. Chance to learn more about legacy code (nearly 25 year old legacy code base) Chance to interact with some really good technically strong engineers and doctors

Cons

- Politically rooted environment - Individual performance has absolutely no impact in Rewards, Recognition and Promotion. People who suck up to the managers get wind fall gains. - Managers are morally bankrupt and as lazy as government officials - Architects are the worst lot. Unapproachable and technically Zero. - Architects behave like gods and control the people managers into playing politics. - Senior managers have no idea about the product and fake knowledge repeatedly. - Groupism and Seniority in philips ! matters in all activities spanning day to day working here. - You will have to contend working with really dumb people with a lot of political force.

Pros

The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

Cons

Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
