Pros

- 40K to ramp up is not bad, eventually became 35K - Benefits are average, premiums a bit high, nice week off for Christmas - Training is brief, two days, then pretty much hit the floor running w/the bulls - The job is pretty simple, make a 100 calls a day, get a C-Level on the phone - SVP and President are readily available to help out on a call or listen in to coach you - Weekly meetings to go over call volume and projects being worked on - Used to do Friday beer/games

Cons

- Business Model is a "Bait & Switch, get them excited about an article and ask for Vendor & Sub Contractor lists to take out an ad in a sidebar alongside the piece - I constantly get PR/Media/Marketing telling me that they don't work with "Pay for Play" companies - When companies ask if we have a BPA audit, we are instructed to lie to them by saying "we don't use that service because of the extra fee that goes along with a third party getting involved" - The business model is so outdated, print ads were big in the 80's-90's - SVP once instructed me to say to exec's "we have close to 180,000 in readership between c-levels, senior managers, etc", but when I asked if he could provide proof of that, he shrugged and said "You don't need to know that nor do they need to know, just close that deal and get the list", bad ethics

Pros

This company is great. I have been working here for little under a year. It has a great atmosphere and fun to work. The negative reviews on here are just people who did not want to come to work and actually do the work and got let go because they could not make sales quotas. It is a sales position and you will be held accountable for hitting your numbers. They will work with you and train you and help you if you are struggling. I started here with NO sales experience and I am doing well. I have made commissions consistently. Management is great and they like promote people as well.

Cons

The office is a little old and out dated.

Pros

If you are desperate for a job and need some immediate income, you can grab a few paychecks from them- but still keep looking. That won't last long.

Cons

They have changed their name so many times and the people ( companies, clients ) we would contact would already be guarded, know the companies scam practices and want nothing to do with it, the CEO nor anyone else associated with it. We were told to lie, could never provide proof of anything to the clients company's background yet) and it was a CASH COW for the owner. He has been sued so many times but there is some iron clad contract that they send out- companies don't want to be bothered. The numbers of publication revenue dollars and readers are ALL fictitious and made up. Ergo, there is NO audit report to back up what we would 'have' to tell potential clients- there NEVER will be either. Enter at your own risk and management is also part of the ' good old boys club' as well....liars, cheats, cons will all do well in this environment...until they turn on you that is !
