Pros
Definitely got some hands on experience working in mental health field. Learned exactly what I do NOT want from a job, which is actually a valuable lesson.
Cons
Job was dangerous at some points, and safety of staff was not considered. Upper management did not believe in praise, was distrustful, and did not properly train staff or provide supervision that was needed resulting in undertrained staff and tension. Staff would be blamed for scenarios that we were not trained to handle and forced to sign memos taking responsibility for events that happened at risk of losing our job. Staff's personal life not respected. Underpaid, overworked- often forced to work 24 hour shifts at no notice. Schedule switched around without notice. Really just a company that does not care about it's staff, and makes no attempt to help staff deal with burnout, secondary trauma, and other difficulties of job.
