I was happy to have experienced working at Plaid House, but I would not go back.

Pros
It's a good stepping stone for other positions in the social work field and serves as a good filter to determine whether you're cut out for the field.
Cons
Employees are not valued and they are expected to dedicate 100% of their time to working there. You often work holidays, get stuck overnight, work 24 hours straight, etc. It is a very stressful environment and there is a severe lack of work-life balance. Management expects the world from you for little pay. The compensation is not worth the stress. Management also does not listen to their employees' concerns and moves forward with policies without their input.
