Pros

Provide you with gear that has the company logo. Make you feel like you were picked out of hundreds of potiental candidates (everyone gets hired)

Cons

I was actually referred by someone I used to work with. I knew he was getting referral money but I didn't realize he was making $2',000 and had been groomed to stretch the truth of the job to get me to quit where I was working to join them. Everyone there seemed to be scripted and from the moment you walk through the door act as your best friend, to me it felt a little culty & is meant to take your focus off the reality of the job. The reality of the job:DOOR TO DOOR MARKETER. I was told I was being hired as a Marketing Manager, along with others in my training group and some others were told they were going to be sales people. The truth behind the first "3 months of training" During the interview you are told that you will go through 3 months of training and no matter how qualified, everyone must go through it. Well by day 3 of the training I realized the only thing I was being trained on was memorizing scripts and by the end of the 1st week I was no longer in training but being dropped off in random neighborhoods to go door to door. That was the reality of the job and your training was officially over. I noticed though by this time most everyone else in training was wooed by the company and didn't even realize they had been lied too though the entire process. Any company that purposely hides the truth in terms of job description, pay and intent is probably NOT the best culture to become a part of. There are plenty of other places out there that you can get hired into. Jobs even as a door to door marketer with companies that are upfront about the job details. I am writing this to try and help someone who is considering this job or maybe started it and had doubts: If you are thinking about leaving another job for this one or just finished college DO NOT let them manipulate you into joining this organization and wasting valuable time. Do whatever is right for you, it just felt wrong not to share this experience. There is more concerning experiences that I could share but hopefully this helps. Also note: There is truth behind the comments in other reviews stating employees are highly encouraged to write positive reviews!!! The experience at this company actually made me take websites like glassdoor with a grain of salt.

Pros

After 15 years with the company, the biggest positive has always been the employee-focused culture. They genuinely invest in creating a good work environment, from modern office spaces and great amenities to company events, conferences, and even trips that help build team culture. The flexibility in BT to work remotely part of the week has been a huge benefit for work-life balance, especially with a family. Compensation is competitive within the home remodeling industry, and the company offers solid benefits like 401K and private health insurance. There are also opportunities to grow and learn if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Cons

One challenge is that career growth and promotions don’t always align with seniority or long-term loyalty, which can sometimes feel discouraging after many years with the company. For employees in tech-focused roles, compensation can feel a bit below market compared to the broader tech industry, even though bonuses can help offset that in strong years. Raises without a promotion are usually modest, and while the health insurance is decent overall, coverage for some major medical needs could definitely be improved.
