Pros

I like working at Power HRG because it is a very incentive based community. If you try to do well, you will and they reward you for those efforts. For example, different “challenges” throughout the year with very generous prizes, can and will get you very motivated to work harder and win the challenge to get the prize. Also, they offer you a variety of benefit options after only working at the company for 90 days. I did not have dental coverage with my current insurance, but Power has made it possible to get that coverage and for a very low premium. Even though it is a huge company with many offices and many different branches, there never ceases to be a sense of community and family. Whether they know your name or not, they will say “Morning” and hold the door for you. It never seems forced and is always genuine. The upper management is very understanding and really knows what they are doing. They want you to do well and will give you the attention you need to excel. However, they do not micro-manage and really trust you to put forward your best effort without looking over your shoulder constantly. This is such a young company, in more ways than one. With only being in the past 20 years of business, it has huge milestones, targets, and reached goals. It has only gotten bigger and more efficient in the past few years, and continues to grow everyday. Also, the employees themselves are generally 20-mid 30s and with young people at the front of the company it makes it only that much more fun to work here. Honestly, I NEVER thought I would see myself doing this kind of customer service / sales job. But I am in this profession now and Power has made me love pretty much every aspect of it. There is a lot of room to grow within this company. HR and upper management employees work with you and try very hard to keep you within the company and find out what position it is that fits you best.

Cons

Some downsides to working at Power are that we have to work every other weekend. However, you do get to chose Saturday or Sunday and they are very adamant about giving you the shift hours you have requested. The general “business hours” are not very normal. On average you will work 12 (noon)-8PM. While missing a happy hour with friends after the normal 5PM shift gets off, they do offer some quarterly happy hours. And usually they even cover the bill. Also, there does seem to be a small lack in organization. You have your few bosses that are supervising 40+ people everyday. I sometimes feel as though people can get lost in all the hustle and bustle of the call center. On the flip side though, if you address a supervisor directly, they will get the issue solved and will try their best to remedy it.

Pros

After 15 years with the company, the biggest positive has always been the employee-focused culture. They genuinely invest in creating a good work environment, from modern office spaces and great amenities to company events, conferences, and even trips that help build team culture. The flexibility in BT to work remotely part of the week has been a huge benefit for work-life balance, especially with a family. Compensation is competitive within the home remodeling industry, and the company offers solid benefits like 401K and private health insurance. There are also opportunities to grow and learn if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Cons

One challenge is that career growth and promotions don’t always align with seniority or long-term loyalty, which can sometimes feel discouraging after many years with the company. For employees in tech-focused roles, compensation can feel a bit below market compared to the broader tech industry, even though bonuses can help offset that in strong years. Raises without a promotion are usually modest, and while the health insurance is decent overall, coverage for some major medical needs could definitely be improved.
