Pros

The professional development opportunities and ability to move across the company is phenomenal. In my 8 yrs with the company, I started as an engineer in a plant, moved to corporate engineering, and then moved to Purchases. There are so many opportunities for internal and external trainings that are offered free of charge that we take for granted. As a buyer, I have opportunities not just to purchase materials but permanently affect markets. This develops you professionally to deal with company assets and industry responsibly. For those who work hard and want more responsibility to demonstrate your capabilities, the company gladly gives it to you.

Cons

Bureaucratic, not agile, amount of leadership input required to make a decision

Pros

Many intelligent people who are experts in their fields who are willing to help and provide advice (if they have time). Decent benefits and pay.

Cons

I mentioned time because many people are stretched and overworked. Work life balance is pretty bad and shows no signs of improvement. A lot of this can be attributed to near useless management. Every project is treated as absolute maximum priority but can still be dropped at a moment's notice. Work processes are horribly cumbersome and slow. Even small changes require many approvals but there are endless demands to "move faster".
