Pros

Veterans, and their families. A few great CNAS and nurses.

Cons

LPNs treated with disrespect and loaded with too much work to do good nursing care. LPNs too busy passing pills to learn or help. DNS is bi-polar, she shows a lot of favoritism, while cutting others throats. Don't have any time off, or can't work another job, you are constantly being called by the facility. TURNOVER is terrible, LPNs coming and going too fast to keep a good staff for the Vets.Good caring nurses leaving or being terminated. Veteran care is very bad, It is covered up so good that if you don't know what to look for you won't find it, skin breakdowns, red and blistered bottoms, dirty eyes, mouth, and hands. Too many UTI's. Mouth care not done correctly, faces not washed, hands not washed before eating. Vets rub their eyes with their hands with stool on them, eyes get infected. VA needs to take it back. Surface and money looks good BUT BEWARE of WOLVES in SHEEPS clothing. Supervisors are no help, they work there to draw a check, they are lazy and incompetent. MY FAMILY WILL NEVER COME HERE FOR CARE.

Pros

Proximity to home, flexibility provided when needed

Cons

Lack of workload balance when comparing the short term and longterm demands. Archaic unreliable technology, poor supply management, Only paid for one holiday and only if you are working. High turnover from upper mgt down. Redundancies in work processes. Many employees are paid for one position, but performing 2 to 3 other job descriptions. 30 day lead to take a day of PTO while other ppl are on PTO for months, thus causing an already strained situation worse. Lack of investment in the property by ownership. No office space for Unit Managers, one shares a small closet with a commercial ice machine, the other is in the supply closet that was once a shower. Low morale.
