Pros

- There is a 1:10 ratio of talent vs toxic legacy employees if you can find them... - Half price product offerings e.g. Insurance & Hotel stays

Cons

The most accurate analogy i heard whilst employed was "RACV is an analogy of MadMax, the last remaining survivors hiding from the ever-evolving industry that surrounds them." It's surprisingly accurate... - Strategically siloed unaligned delivery, resulting in spinning wheels and value never realised to what should be a member-focused organisation. - Industry talent lasts 3-6 months before either burning out, being bullied or realising their mistake, joining RACV and leaving on their own accord. - Resulting in disgusting levels of toxicity across teams - 'Change' is met with fear, doubt and insecurities of legacy staff. - Career progression is based on klout, not skill, experience or results proven - CEO / Neil, joketown...

Pros

RACV pays well, offers generous employee discounts across its insurance and leisure products, and is financially stable with a genuine respect for work-life balance. As with most organisations, your experience will ultimately hinge on your division leader and direct manager. The majority of senior leaders are smart, respectful, and genuinely care about their teams — though a minority will put their own ambitions ahead of the people they're supposed to serve.

Cons

Like many large organisations, RACV's scale comes with real constraints. High overheads, accumulated tech debt, and rooms full of 50+ stakeholders can make innovation feel like swimming upstream. Decision-making is slow, and with senior leaders holding strong opinions, employees can find it easier to follow orders than fight for new ideas. Resources naturally flow toward the top organisational priorities — which means some parts of the business are left to make do with less.
