Pros

PTO, home life balance, most Rackers are great to work with.

Cons

Rackspace is no longer in the technology space - they are 100% focus on being a service company. Rackspace is continuously looking to save money by sending tech roles to India. Dev, Engineers, no matter your role it will or already has been moved to India. They are not adding new features and/or building new products. As a developer (no matter which product you work on) the goal is to focus on bug fixes, nothing exciting for a tech career - you won't be challenged. Yearly layoffs continue - fear and stress is high. The days of innovation and working on the latest technologies are long gone. Talent continues to walk out the door - they leave on their own or through "organizational restructuring." Also known as layoffs. The company grew 1% last year and that was the highest growth rate in 4 years. There are better companies out there than Rackspace, better pay, and better culture. It's sad to see Rackspace in it's current state. The Sales org is a great place to be as Rackspace is spending money in hiring sales folks - hoping that more sales people equal more customers. The problem? The 'product's are not appealing anymore - they are obsolete and overpriced. There are cheaper products and better support from other companies. Additionally, they are moving support offshore too. So much for being fanatical. Rackspace is way behind as other companies tried the offshore idea and lost - modern companies are bringing jobs back - many studies support this. My advice - work somewhere else.
