Pros

Friendly people, opportunity to move around (mainly in Allocation), wide breadth of knowledge across the department, consistent company performance, thorough training program. Overall, a good place to begin your career in analytics or retail, but don't stay much longer than you need to.

Cons

Morale is seriously lacking in the Allocation department, a lot of unhappy people looking for jobs elsewhere. Very high turnover, lack of trust, and micro-managing create an unfavorable working environment. A lot of times - in Assortment Management especially - you wonder if what you're doing is actually making any impact, aside from making your manager look good. Pointless is a good word to describe some endeavors in Allocation. Some other cons include mediocre benefits, low pay, dysfunctional partnerships across teams and departments, and boredom. There are too many people in Allocation, creating imbalanced workloads and unnecessary middle-management.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.

Pros

Even though this is with my store specifically I got really lucky with my coworkers. Every season change there is 40% off for about a week other than that is 20%. They also have scholarship opportunities.

Cons

It’s a really physical job, sometimes it’s so busy that you can’t even take a break especially during Christmas season, you WILL debate working there during that time. The store hours are horrible and since most of the time were understaffed we won’t leave until almost midnight just cleaning up.
