Pros

Working at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt has been an incredibly positive experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rewarding, growth-oriented environment. The company culture is one of the best I’ve encountered—collaborative, inclusive, and genuinely welcoming. Leadership is approachable and supportive, with a clear vision for the future that they actively share with all levels of the organization. They truly operate with an open-door policy, making it easy to discuss ideas, goals, and even challenges openly. There is ample room for career advancement here, whether it’s within your current role or exploring opportunities in other departments. SUMMIT values internal growth, and I’ve seen many colleagues achieve their career goals through the company’s emphasis on professional development. The hiring practices are impressively diverse and inclusive, reflecting a commitment to building a team that represents varied backgrounds and perspectives, which makes the workplace even more vibrant and enriching. Perhaps most importantly, the work I do here feels impactful and fulfilling. SUMMIT genuinely cares about its guests' experiences and its employees' well-being, making the work both meaningful and rewarding. I feel fortunate to be part of such a forward-thinking and supportive company.

Cons

While SUMMIT One Vanderbilt has many strengths, there are a couple of areas where it could improve. Compensation and benefits, while not terrible, could be more competitive with industry standards to better reflect the hard work and dedication of the team. Additionally, transparency and communication could use some attention, especially when it comes to sharing company updates and decisions with all employees. Improved clarity and openness in these areas would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.

Pros

The pay is okay for what the job actually is. The location is convenient, you can get there by almost any train via grand central, Times Square, port authority, the LIRR and the metro north. If you’re a people person you might make some connections.

Cons

The managers are terrible and are more worried about being on their phones scrolling and making TikTok’s and sitting in their offices rather than actually doing their jobs. They have favorites and if you’re not one of them they treat you like garbage, talk ish about you behind your back and try to bully you. The whole place is very cliquey and unprofessional. The senior managers and onsite associate directors don’t care about you, your wellbeing or your safety. If you have a bad interaction with a guest they will always put the blame on you, even if the guest is disrespectful and or threatening you they won’t side with you because they’re cowards. If you’re a full time worker with this department you can forget about ever having a life outside of this place. They want you to be slaves; which is why the managers, senior managers (with the exception of 1) and associate directors are so miserable and want you to be miserable too.
