Pros
Samaritan is a large organization with multiple opportunities for employment. There are a lot of perks to working in a hospital for example, free flu shots, opportunities to donate blood, volunteer within the community, fast paced work environment to name a few, and Samaritan is no different. The work itself was good there. The facility has received some recent upgrades that have turned around the overall feel of the hospital.
Cons
THE PAY SUCKS! When I first started working there it felt like I had walked into a time warp. The hospital decor looked as if it were 30+ years old. It kind of felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone. It is a small town and if you are an outsider, they treat you like one. Management acts the same way. Everyone is very clicky and they don't like new people. If you are a military spouse, forget it. You are not "in" with them. At least not in the department I worked in. Management stinks. They act like they'll help you when they won't. I was injured on the job because they were negligent and didn't salt an icy surface. I was treated terribly and have had 2 surguries for an injury that is most likely permanent. If we ever moved back, I would never work there again.
