Pros

Samaritan is a large organization with multiple opportunities for employment. There are a lot of perks to working in a hospital for example, free flu shots, opportunities to donate blood, volunteer within the community, fast paced work environment to name a few, and Samaritan is no different. The work itself was good there. The facility has received some recent upgrades that have turned around the overall feel of the hospital.

Cons

THE PAY SUCKS! When I first started working there it felt like I had walked into a time warp. The hospital decor looked as if it were 30+ years old. It kind of felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone. It is a small town and if you are an outsider, they treat you like one. Management acts the same way. Everyone is very clicky and they don't like new people. If you are a military spouse, forget it. You are not "in" with them. At least not in the department I worked in. Management stinks. They act like they'll help you when they won't. I was injured on the job because they were negligent and didn't salt an icy surface. I was treated terribly and have had 2 surguries for an injury that is most likely permanent. If we ever moved back, I would never work there again.

Pros

I left before I lost my mind

Cons

I experienced racism so bad at this company. When it was reported to upper management they stated” Watertown is not use to diversity “. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know how to treat people. I had patients not come to me to get help because I was black, I had patients call me a “black beep” and management did nothing. In fact there were racist things said buy my coworker also. I went to HR and they just moved me to a different and stuck me in the office. The lady I was going to work with in the new department didn’t want to work with me because I was black. Nothing was done, in fact the manager I had at the previous department… they promoted him and moved him to the building I went to. I eventually quit because I got tired of being discriminated against and not heard. I was also tired of looking at the manager I had issues with everyday. If YOU ARE BLACK RUN. THE MOMENT YOU SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF YOU ARE THE ANGRY BLACK PERSON THATS CRAZY. RUN!!

Pros

The only pros are some residents and the fact that you get paid

Cons

They treat all cna workers like crap, and you’re supposed to just take it.. very clique based and is where ppl sleep around w each other and I’m sure all the good reviews listed here are ONLY because ppl know ppl and it’s favoritism (it’s all about who you know) lastly if you are African American DONT WORK HERE unless you take passive aggression and racial slurs lightly. (Is that your real hair?, why are you angry?, can I touch your hair?, why aren’t there that many black ppl living in senior homes? (yes, I was asked that) it’s hostile and management only bends the rules of it’s beneficial for them. Everybody talks about everybody
