Pros

Flexible hours and many positions available.

Cons

They give 20% off for employees but then add it as income to be taxes later on on your w2. They count it as a gift so you’ll have to pay taxes on money that you’ve earned from them that you’ve already paid taxes on. Also, similar jobs in the same area pay living wages, while Sephora pays close to minimum wage. Over 10 years of service, and you can expect to be paid less than $20 an hour doing facials and makeovers. The way that they fool other companies to make them think that they have very few turn over rates, is they keep you on as an employee once a month so that it doesn’t look like tons of people are quitting. Which they are. They have absolutely no room for employees to rest or break. Small 10x15 areas with two cafe tables and high stools with no backs for support lined up in front of lockers that people need to get into to get their belongings. So you’re constantly having to get up and move out of their way.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive coworkers. Management is generally pretty good. You get to work with all the fun products and learn directly from brand reps. And the customers are there to learn about the products - and you get to talk to them about the best products. If you're excited about Sephora, go apply!

Cons

Hours vary based on the time of the year.
