Pros

-Free Makeup -Brand knowledge that can help you better your skills if you freelance -Fast thinking enviroment

Cons

-Complicated management system. You literally don't know whos in charge on any given day. And asking will get you in trouble. I often received contradictory statements from different managers "you have to email me that information" + "email is not a valid way of sending information here at Sephora" were both stated to me from two different leaders. -Sephora as a brand has a great list of core values that make working for the company sound amazing. However they do not actually abide by such values. Sometimes even completely ignoring them. -No commission or cash incentives unlike most "beauty counter jobs". -They focus on poor customer service. They have you wear a headset and make sure you spend no more than 10 minutes with a customer. And even if you are selling someone $400 worth of stuff they want you to leave that customer and will bark in your ear to do it. -Working in a space that is prodominantly females = catty and mean. Lots of talking behind your back even from managment. -Not allowed sick days. They will find a way to fire you if you are sick during a busy season. Despite promoting a "work life balance" -Hygiene is terrible. They dont clean the product properly that they actually apply onto customers. They only use 70% alcohol to clean product when 99% is the only acceptable percentage to clean. Brush cleaner they use does nothing and they never give you time to deep clean your brushes.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive coworkers. Management is generally pretty good. You get to work with all the fun products and learn directly from brand reps. And the customers are there to learn about the products - and you get to talk to them about the best products. If you're excited about Sephora, go apply!

Cons

Hours vary based on the time of the year.
