Pros

...to be honest...it wasn't really much that was positive. A couple team-members were okay, i guess. I can't really say that anything really stood out to me.

Cons

-Disorganized training. The very first day, they just threw me into work without any proper introduction to much of the team, leading to an awkward environment, and i just kinda had to "figure things out" without any real structure. This let me know what they truly prioritized: you are just another number & a body to them. At the end of the day, for them, it all comes down to cutting costs & extracting your labor. -Hours are unstable. During the interview, they promised a certain amount of hours, but once I started working, they suddenly cut my time in half because there were "issues with payroll"...so you mean you all didn't know this before you went through this whole process of hiring me?? it's just comical how so many retailers go on about workers needing to "keep [our] word" about our availability, and they expect us to have open availability whenever they want, but yet they can't keep their word on how much hours they give us. if the hours are volatile, please let me know beforehand, because otherwise, you're just wasting my time by making me think I'll atleast get a decent paycheck; suddenly going from 22 hours a week to 10-12 hours is not acceptable. I'm just so glad I already interviewed at other places before I got hired here, so I was able to get other job-offers in time. -Miscommunication. It just felt like people weren't properly informed about my status or my hours, and I could see early that these communication-issues would be future problems. Overall, in my opinion, it's literally just like any other corporate retailer, like Walmart or Macy's. If you apply here, expect alot of lip-service with nothing special going on. If you apply here, i recommend just having this place as just a 2nd job on the weekends or something while you work another [better] job & while you go to college. Don't base your future here.

Pros

fun getting gratis and hosting in-store events, meeting brand ambassadors/managers, socializing with clients

Cons

manager created a weird environment -- coaching moments were sometimes extremely aggressive for a retail environment; strict on not applying makeup to clients unless they purchase a service. once made me move from a disabled client quickly because I was "spending too much time with them" and to further boost the store sales. felt extremely unethical.
