Pros

- Meal card system - Pay is ok - You can work from home sometimes - Good benefits - Met some really amazing people (who had either already quit/got fired or are suffering themselves)

Cons

The managers here micromanage the hell out of their employees. They make exceptions for employees that can kiss up to them the most. But it's basically their way or the highway; no room for differing opinions. They will also belittle you and report you for the smallest actions and mistakes, but let other employees (or themselves!) get away with the same things. It's a matter of whether they like you or not according to the boss who gossips the most. Also your sick days/wfh days are also monitored and recorded in case they need a reason not to promote you or give you a raise, and use this information to accuse you of a poor performance. Nice! HR has no interest in protecting the employees. Any complaints made about the managers are watered down and not taken seriously. Probably because they've been friends with each other for years. I expect the employees at my level to be a little more casual, but the gossip is rampant, the power playing. being quick to throwing each other under the bus, the blame games, stealing credit for others' works and ideas, and the tribalism is too real. There's bullying of all kinds of flavors here. I've been hit, shoved and insulted by an employee before (who was fired for over-stepping how long she can skip work in a day without anyone noticing) but the people here chose to turn a blind eye to this. There is little support here, it's an "all for yourself" sort of situation on this boat. The once most cheerful and brightest people in the office now sit with sullen, soulless expressions. There's a lot of mental health issues here in this office, and it's no coincidence that the environment they foster is the result of it. Raising our therapy insurance's budget isn't going to resolve the problem until we kill the root of the cause. What happened to "smart, kind and creative" again? Anyone who knows their worth are making their exit plans right now. The people who are staying are the ones who know they can't do any better.

Pros

- Great base comp - Unlimited PTO - Good food at offices

Cons

- Leadership is incompetent. This company will die and when it does, it will be no one's fault other than Evan. - If you disagree with leadership and speak up, you will be punished. All SMC VPs hired each other from past companies. They are all corporate ladder climbers from Meta with no morals. - Being a leader at Snap means leading through fear and regularly throwing tantrums in conference rooms. - The ads business is a joke. No matter how many ex-[insert big tech name] engineers work on the product, you can't monetize an audience of 13 year olds or people who's sole use case for this app is inappropriate. - There is truly nothing redeeming about this business, B2C or B2B. It's all smoke and mirrors. I've never seen the population of monetizable users grow, it's only gone down since I've joined. To offset this we acquire the cheapest users possible to appease investors who see straight through this BS.
