Pros
Good work/life balance for most associates. Superior internal training programs for developing job-related skills and knowledge. Generally high ethical standards. TerriCommitment to workplace diversity. Financially stable company with okay salaries and benefits.
Cons
Very weak career mobility unless you are exceedingly good at professional networking around the organization. Associates working in high-visibility divisions, even in low-level clerical positions, are far more likely to move around and advance than those assigned to lower-visibility functional areas or remote offices. State Farm no longer issues company credit cards to associates on company business travel. Associates must use their own credit cards and be reimbursed. Frequent zone and department reorganizations re-shuffle the organizational charts without necessarily improving communication or overall operational effectiveness. Perhaps most regrettably, office politics at State Farm can be surprisingly nasty.
