Great big bank with small bank feel - Senior Vice President State Street Employee Review

Pros

If you work in the main corporate office, it has a smaller feel than it really is (30000+ employees). But that's a good thing. As far as large corporations go, it's probably the best place in Boston to work. Regular performance assessments, accessible managers.

Cons

There were a few RIFs (rounds of layoffs) in my time. Not always management's fault, but something to be aware of for all levels of staff.
