Pros
For those driven to learn, the company can still be a great starting point. A long history and capabilities in the four walls do still exist. Amenities and benefits are good, and if the case may be, exit packages are fair.
Cons
Although great expertise still resides within the walls, utilising it is a challenge (silos, the best staff are very busy with regulations, and there may be a back-log of queries e.g. IT.) Many years outsourcing duties can take a toll on the collective culture and belief in a long and fruitful career. Downward trend in stock price may make things worse. Get ready for a bumpy ride.
