Pros

Good Pay Work Life Balance Free Food but no cafeteria except few wending machines Its a retirement company Don't come if you are coming from service industry like Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini etc- you will get nothing to learn.

Cons

OK so Sunlife ASCI is captive unit so very much cost sensitive. eg. yearly parties without drinks ASCI Leadership is not competent except few handful leaders Associate Director & Director level person in ASCI is not any better than a Manager level resource of companies like TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini etc and even inferior than Associate and Senior Associates of Deloitte, Mckinsey and PwC etc. IT infrastructure wise - they are from stone age. Onshore team is conservative in nature and hesitant to adopt latest changes. 90% project are on waterfall and leadership knows only name of Agile nothing else about it. Nothing to learn if you are from coming Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini kind of service industry because your exp is way too much for ASCI to handle and you can easily sustain with 10-15% of your past experience. You can simply plan your retirement from here.

Pros

Holidays off, okay pay, cross train in other areas that are needed

Cons

Managers, doesn’t keep advancement promises, always mentioning room for growth but when the opportunity presents itself they have an excuse for why right now is not a good time to move. Adds training for other departments that are short staffed but don’t compensate for all the different departments calls you are taking. Trying to take PTO is a pain, there are plenty employees so there should be no issues with taking time off
