Pros
Sundara is a well known and respected Spa, ranking as one of the top spas in the U.S. There is a lot of responsibility working front desk here including being the face of the company considering you are almost always the first and last person guests will communicate with, as well as the first person they will think to go to when they are lost or confused. This puts a lot of pressure on the employee but challenges you in a great way. The business as a whole has a great layout and mostly organized business. I'm not sure if I should include this in pros or cons but you do have to stand at the desk at all times and are expected to walk each guest back to the proper lounge or give a detailed tour each time you are taking care of a first-time guest which happens quite often. The SMELL is amazing! Discounts are great if you get to use them. However--careful to not spend your entire paycheck on skincare since the retail is in front of you at all times.
Cons
It is still a fairly new business especially compared to the other businesses in town and has a quick turnover. There are a few reasons that it is so quick, with the biggest reason being that (at least while I was there) the pay was not compensating for the amount of responsibility. I have heard it went up even $5/hr since then but considering that we see the numbers in front of us even $19/hr doesn't feel fair. Each guest is paying a minimum of $100 for one service and at least $200 before leaving. The most common amount I saw being payed out was three or four hundred per person and with 150 guests average relying on you for everything, you start to expect more especially at the 3 month mark where you are fully trained. There were so many benefits but using them is difficult. It is easier now for employees so I do believe this was addressed a bit better.
