Pros

Great place to start your staffing career cause they would literally hiring anyone.

Cons

So there’s going to be a lot to unpack here, so buckle up and get your popcorn ready. I’ve been with TEKsystems for 2.5 years. Started as a sourcer at the Lake Mary / Orlando Delivery Center. I came from a sales manager background and I was super excited to get the opportunity to step into the corporate world because it means a lot to my family and me as an Asian male who came from a different country. I was in my training class with 3 other people at the time. When I completed my 4-week training, I was supposed to be aligned with a Recruiter Lead, but instead, I was sitting in the pod for 2 weeks doing nothing with 0 support. Meanwhile, my other 3 colleagues are up and running with the RL. I was going to quit after that second week because I felt left out and no one wanted to work with me. I sat there wondering why those people were placed and I was still waiting with no one. Luckily, a recruiter was assigned to take me on as his sourcer. Not long after that, someone told me the reason why I was sitting there for 2 weeks was because I have an accent and for that reason, both recruiter leads didn’t want to work with me. I should have seen that as a red flag as I was racially profiled from the very beginning, but I decided to give them a chance to make up for it. Since then, I knew I had to work harder than everyone to prove my accent had nothing to do with my work ethic. I spent 2 hours on the road every day to get to work and drive back home. When I’m there I wanted nothing but to work hard. It's a crappy feeling when you know your job could be on the line every day because people associate your ethnicity with your work ethic. My spread proved I did a lot more than everyone on my team to find ways to be better at the job. Early on I was able to build a large network with account managers, earned respect from colleagues to get exclusive business, and spent time to get certification in skillsets that I specialized in. This office does not care about those things though. This office cares about being a “culture fit”. Now let me explain how this “culture fit” is not the professional culture you’d expect from such a large, well-respected company in the industry. I don’t drink, and should not have to explain why I make that personal decision. In TEK eyes, if you don’t drown your liver in alcohol at their Happy Hours, you are not a culture fit to them. I wanted nothing but a professional work environment - that’s also not a culture fit. They want you to be buddy-buddy with everyone, make sure you share your business you spent your own time building connections for with everyone on the team while other people just sit there and wait for the business to be handed to them. I got written up in 2019 because I was “hiding business”, but when other lead recruiters on the team were doing the same thing, no one bothered to say anything. I’ll let you fill in the blanks that they were white males. If you show up to Happy Hour, suck up and down your liver in alcohol, you’ll have no issues at this office. You can even get away with getting someone pregnant in the same office. I was promised by 3 different leaderships that remote work is possible, because I explained to them that how far I live from the office. They set goals and expectations for me to hit to receive this perk and yet I did it over and over again. One leadership after the other giving me the same empty promises and always blaming the next person why they couldn’t fulfill the promise when I hit the agreed-upon goal. Recently, the new DBO requested everyone to be back in the office. I explained my situation and the difference between wanting to be working remote vs the need of working remote. Yet, there won't be any accommodations. The entire of leadership is a mess and there is no communication between anyone. They will all promise you something on individual calls, then when in a call altogether, will sit silent and not back up anything they said to you previously. Feedback to the company- stop promising people things you have no authority or even desire to fulfill. The lack of transparency, sympathy, and professionalism is insane in this place. The pay structure is pretty much a scam. The commission tier on their main website said one thing, but the real number is another thing. At 11K in spread you will be making less than $50 commission/ week, that's 0.4%. Needless to say, I appreciate the “opportunity“ that they gave, but will also remember this company for the racial profiling and empty promises they continue to give to not only me but others in the office and company as a whole as well. Good luck!

Pros

good contract customer was expectin at least a year plus of working with a a company called microsoft. made good friends at the last job i did with them.

Cons

contract barely lasted 5 months for me, less for others. I felt used as a tax write off, They laid us off without notice. We had suspected it would happen again after the first time 300 people got let go. When it happened the first time we were surprised now the second time I got to be angry. They lack communication and knowing how to handle an overpopulated work place and proper protocol about laying people off. for some people who relocated and they have still not recieved pay and since their contract is over they may not even recieve it.
