Pros

Full disclosure: I see a lot of reviews on companies and I feel like they can be extremely picky, or even biased based on how they write reviews due to how they left their last company and I think as a result, a lot of reviews are skewed. This is just my opinion, but ultimately my intentions with this review is to be as fair and unbiased as possible when writing this so as a reader please know that I'm doing my absolute best hear to deliver a fair and honest assessment because that's what I would want to see when looking at a review. Moving onto the actually review now... There are a lot of Pros about working at TEK and I'm going to be as fair as possible while writing this because First off, TEK has an impressive training program once you get started. I came in with technical recruiting experience already, but the training/ramp period once you start out is well-defined and modernized, but you just need to take advantage of it and assert yourself. That being said, you can absolutely learn something you may not have already known if you're experienced or you can go from a complete "noob" in recruiting and learn how to be successful one from TEK. Like I mentioned above, I came in with experience already so the space wasn't a complete nuance for me, but I definitely was not a polished recruiter yet. That being said, I knew I needed to develop and improve upon a lot of small details and I was able to do just that at TEK because they worked with me to fill in the gaps. So not only does TEK have a very solid training program, they're also fantastic at developing people into well-rounded recruiters with a framework that actually is backed up by data they compiled over the years within the tech industry. For a staffing company, TEK is probably the best one you can work for in my opinion. They have good positioning for the most part on most of their reqs and you get to support a wide range of clients from small, very massive enterprise companies so you can get great exposure to a lot of different companies lines of business and hiring methods and I think that's very solid experience. I also felt like the people that work there are down to earth human-beings. I think if you've ever worked as a technical recruiter before you'll innately understand that the position isn't for everyone and they know that too so they're very patient with your development and don't give up on you unless you do yourself. This is why I also enjoyed working at TEK because the people that work there will have your back when times are tough. It's a selfish world we live in and people that actually have your back and follow through are people I have high respect for and TEK delivers here. Lastly, I think TEK does a fantastic job at developing people into strong leaders. It's hard to pinpoint why and how they do so well here, but it's a lot of small things that add up over time that ultimately are like building blocks that produce high quality leaders that win. I strongly believe that this component that I was able to gain from working at TEK helped elevate me and raise the bar significantly in my current role now and am extremely thankful for TEK instilling this in me.

Cons

The only reason why I wouldn't give them a 5-star review is because there are small things like not having much flexibility with being remote or just having more a more modernized perspective on this area of work-life balance. When I was at TEK, I worked very hard and they didn't force me to work as hard as I did it's just who I am as a person and the backwards part of about this component of work life balance is that when I started with TEK we were all remote! From day 1 until honestly about a little over a year or so, we were fully remote during the pandemic, but once the world started to slowly get back to normal there was a huge push from leadership to go back to a fully on-site environment 5 days week unless you were in that top percentage of high producers that are hitting absurdly high numbers that I can't even fathom to imagine to achieve. It was such head scratching part of working at TEK that started to bother me over time because we live in a different era where life can change quickly, and things can be very stressful at times so just having that ability to get away from other people or work in a different environment can do wonders for employees mental health/well-being. I spoke with leadership about this and this in depth with open dialogue and they would have fully supported this, but it really was a company-wide decision and not something that an individual office could determine so their hands were tied there with having to make that call. I respected that because they were just doing their job, but I ultimately still give this a Con because this is a flaw with TEK and I think it needs to be acknowledged. It was definitely a motivating factor that contributed to me eventually leaving, but not the main one so I don't want to make it seem like it's a terrible place because it's definitely not.

Pros

- Decent pay to start. - Account manager is responsive, engaging, and a serious advocate for you and your contract. - Gain access to Udemy Business to build more skills.

Cons

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
