Pros
- You can make a very good living (see con #2) - Everyone you work with has similar interests and personalities as you so the environment is fun for coming right out of school. - TEK has a decent name in the IT staffing world so doors can open for you. -Great training, lots of structure to help recent college grads get going in their career. - Go work at TEK if you can't find another job, they will hire just about anybody at this point. Use them for their training and try to network with the connections you make to get to a real company.
Cons
Where do I begin.. -Leadership is typically high producing Account Managers who have NO clue how to manage people. - Work life balance doesn't exist period. Only way to get management to even consider remote work, flex hours you have to be a working mother. Even then, if you are able to get those benefits you will basically shut off any career growth because you are fully committed. - The people they ID as leaders are usually the office favorites, regardless of skill it usually comes down to who stays at office outings the latest and strokes leaderships ego the most. - Base salaries are some of the worst you'll find. -If you try to think outside the box you will not be rewarded. TEK has their way of doing things and anything else is forbidden. - Chicago suburban office new sales manager may be one of the worst leaders you will find. - Promoting of incompetent people who management thinks are "rising stars" usually end up quitting or leaving because they are not anywhere close to ready to be representing TEK as an Account Manager. - The offices will fool you into thinking there is tons of growth an opportunity through promotions when in reality they are just trying to get more phone calls out and more people that the "leads" and "sales managers" can use to get in front of clients. People catch on to this quickly when they realize the office spreads all stay the same and rich get richer and the new hires struggle.
