Pros

Once upon a time, here were the benefits - Car Allowances (they took it away from us in favour of per km reimbursement, yet we do not drive at all.. and most of us leased vehicles given the requirement for the allowance was newer than 7 years and 4 door - I am personally driving for UberEats to cover my car now - Work events - this was arguably the best part of the job, partners like RingCentral would take us all out for drinks / events but that dried up due to COVID (Pretty sure they fired the guy that everyone loved to) - the best was that managers used to play favourites here so if you wanted to get good accounts then you had to basically suck up to yours to get good accounts that were not garbage like 99 percent of all of them - base salary is horrible and commissions were okay, not great (most sales companies offer a base salary then the same amount as a commission (ex 60kbase + 60K commission) but they changed it to make sure we make LESS than what Shaw or Bell sales people make. the new people who have 2 or 3 years experience only get like 45k as a base salary but the market average is 65K so its bit of a insulting situation - People used to be amazing here, but most of them quit and now it is mostly the shady people left. There are good people left but they are not experienced enough for the work sales is supposed to do whether it is how they strategize accounts or do any admin and basically sell then drop the accounts, implementation goes to sh*t then the accounts get avoided - sales managers are actually normally pretty cool but not all the managers are manager quality which is concerning since they keep saying we are a sales organization. one of the managers who is beyond rude and has zero experience in sales or with clients in bc is petty and really hates some people as if the person wants people to quit and several of her team have quit but she's is given a pass because of how long she's been at Telus so they can't afford to pay her out to leave - there are a LOT of people at Telus like that.

Cons

-toxic and petty managers -president of Telus Business doesn't care about us -pay is way lower than market average on experience -commissions are low and most people have a sub $100K max earning potential (sure some people over achieve but they get to cherry pick accounts due to the favortisim -pretty sure we do not have a hr team since I have wanted to speak to them but even management says to email the askhr email... how do we not have a hr person to work with?! -we are so bad at implementation of anything - from pure fibre to phone systems to anything, we have no day 2 support and we keep hearing how we are testing it but where is it? two years into a pandemic and they have no idea what the heck clients think of us - MOST HATE US and will literally hang up when we call - telus is so far behind when it comes to account information cause its like 9 out of 10 accounts have bad information and they are in the wrong group like why am I dealing with a business that has 3 employees when I should be dealing with 100+ employee businesses - we do not even give a care about this and the execs are aware but dont want to do anything - sales force is horrible bc telus is too cheap to actually fix stuff and spends money on flashy things THE BIGGEST THING THAT UPSET ME OFF AND MY COWORKERS: When covid hit, most of us were not used to being remote workers exclusively despite Telus "enabling" us with company issued computers (which are not good btw) and a former $30 (may have been $20) credit for home Internet - MOST OF US DID NOT HAVE MONITORS SO THAT IS WHY WE WOULD GO INTO THE OFFICE, Telus said they would give us what we need (monitors / keyboard etc) but its been like 2 years and some people (me included) are still waiting. look at any of our competitors and they sent their employees LEGIT work from home packages - keyboards mouses monitors notepads water bottles or even some stuff just to acknowledge they know we suffer right now but telus didn't do anything like that despite posting profit on quarters and paying the execs bonuses (but we didn't get anything). stay far away from this company, you will literally hate your life and lose any aspirations of being a happy person

Pros

Work from home and create your own schedule. Paid training. There is an option for therapy through the company.

Cons

They are hiring, but there aren't enough tasks to make the minimum of 10 hours a week. There are no raises and no promotions. They take a long time to respond to emails, if they respond at all. The only benefit is a 401 (k). $14 is the pay rate, and one can only work 20 hours a week, if there are enough tasks. The past couple of exams for training set one up to fail them. I have been doing this job long enough to know this. They constantly threaten your job, which really affects morale and confidence. There used to be bonuses, but they haven't done them in a long time. There were times we were given permission to work up to 35 hours for the week, but again, it has been a long time. Last one, they didn't have enough tasks to allow for workers to get to 25+. They also offered stock options, but they ended that as well. They made a major mistake on my end and threatened me unless I complied. Eventually got an email that they were wrong, but they didn't apologize. I saw they were hiring freelancers with a maximum of 25 hours a week. I wrote to management and was told the rest of us were only staying at 20. I am currently seeking other employment. There are other companies that do the same work with higher pay and actual benefits. This was once a good job, but once Telus took over, it has been downhill. I would not recommend this company anymore. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a sinking ship.
