Pros

Good benefits, can't think of anything else.

Cons

Low pay - below average salary that will not increase as you are given excuse after another while getting CEO emails that the company has exceeded prev year's sales every year. Uncapped commission but you have to meet so many metrics for you to maximize on this. If you are not meeting 50% of the sales target, you get ZERO commission pay. Even when you have more than 50% of the sales target, there are multiple system and tracking issues that you will have to constantly fight and prove everything to get paid and will take months. Not paying for any sale that the employees make is stealing. Toxic management and workplace - TELUS pretends to care for employees' working environment and have values but everything is a marketing gimmick. Upper management do not care about any of the values. They all talk about it but in real life, like any other corporations, only thing matters is the bottom line and how much money you are bringing in while meeting all the KPIs. If you bring up any issues in regards to a toxic work environment or about a toxic manager, they will drag the investigation process out so much that it just disappears after a while. You can't even trust your own manager because they will pretend to have your back and your best interest but the managers are chosen by the upper management and be a puppet for them. Unethical work practices - You will be told to 'scam' customers into taking a much higher price for a service that is sometimes 5x or even more compared to the in market price because TELUS decided to force people from copper to fibre and the company do not want to lose out on the customers who have been paying high rates without trying to negotiate. Customers will be often billed for services that they have cancelled years ago and make it so that it's hard to notice from their bill and not reimburse the full amount back. Upper management will try to find dirt with your work to create a reason to let you go. When you have nothing shady, they will set you up to create something so they can use that against you. You will also be asked to provide all the names and details of of how you got the sale if they did not come from a marketing lead. TELUS tries so hard to make these marketing campaigns successful when they are feeding you worse than google search leads. If your sales came from outside of these campaigns, you must be doing something shady. Such a joke! Unrealistic KPIs - New KPI or technology adoption rate will be added for no reason. It's to the point that it creates more work on top of your regular day to day trying to meet unrealistic KPIs. If you are communicating with your customer via email or receiving a call, they don't count towards the KPI. ONLY outbound calling activities count because apparently that is the only way that you are speaking with the customer. Culture and values that they preach is non existent. People will pretend to be your 'friend', 'we are more than a colleague relationship', any other BS they will feed you to get you to trust them only to stab you in the back. People will be hired or promoted to a role from sucking up to upper management. There are a lot of people in the management position where they have no idea what they are doing or what their team is doing but knows how to talk during meetings that mean nothing to look like they are doing the work. When they are questioned, you are left on read and will never get a response or constantly given 'we will circle back' or 'we are looking into it' and this can drag on for years with no actual resolution. Once used to be a good and enjoyable place to work. Now, very toxic and upper management doing anything they can to push tenured employees out to replace with a new to save cost.
