Loss of Flexibility - Underwriter The Hartford Employee Review

Pros

Six months ago, the best reason was flexibility but that has since been taken away with a mandatory return to office for all employees living within 25 miles of an office. This, despite pre pandemic status of "full time remote." So, now my answer on pro: is that collectively, employees have spoken out. So, the workforce itself is strong and has the courage to speak up with or without fear of retribution.

Cons

Employees feel like the senior executive leaders are not hearing them and that has impacted overall morale. Employees are disgusted by the one-size fits all method for working in a physical office. This has people impacted with the mandate on edge. And, those who are not directly impacted by this huge inconvenience are worried about their future for career growth.

A lot of turnover and manager has significant impact on ability to advance. Massive amount of backend politics around talent, role ownership etc.
