The Purple Guys

Is this your company?

A revolving door employer who doesn't value employees but rather the bottom line. - Senior Network Engineer The Purple Guys Employee Review

Pros

Decent pay, opportunity to work with variety of technologies but primarily focused on small businesses which lessens growth potential, somewhat promotes training and development, overtime pay system even for salary, bonus system in place based on monthly performance. Not a lot of pros, it's merely a job while you look for a better job for almost all it's employees.

Cons

Management appears to not care about it's employees which shows in it's unusually high turnover rate, lack of employee engagement, gimmicky marketing, uniform requirement, general distrust between management and engineers, cheap ownership that won't provide proper equipment for employees, average benefits even for a small company, ineffective internal systems for managing client needs and employee time

Pros

Joined The Purple Guys a little over a year ago. I am constantly impressed by the people I work with and the direction of the organization.

Cons

The company is growing rapidly which may mean a lot of changes this may not be ideal for folks who don't shift quickly.

Pros

Getting paid for time outside of shift, friendly colleagues for the most part If you work overtime your time you get paid automatically. You do learn alot working in an MSP.

Cons

Highly deceptive management tells you your performance is good then blindsides you by telling falsified information to higher management. Also, manager was still expecting me to work during my PTO which was extremely unprofessional. TPG was recently brought out by a larger MSP and pays lower salaries. The company is definitely moving into a different company and let's just say that this company is good for building experience and moving into a better company role with a different company. Also TPG has a high turnover and they is nepotism/favoritism. There are very little people of color and if you are a person of color you will have to deal with racist mircro agressions. I largely think that they have a race quota and only hire to fire in a short period of time. TO ANYONE WHO MAY FEEL SINGLE OUT... IF U GET GOOD PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS INITIALLY SAVE ALL OF THEM AND FORWARD TO PERSONAL E-MAIL. THE MANAGERS delete e-mails out of your tpg mailbox so be careful! Also, the system that they provide the techs with is low quality and was not always reliable.Alot of what the previous reviewers mentioned is very much still accurate currently. High turnover as well.
