Pros

Lots of good rank and file people. Very knowledgeable within the industry and very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my time at Travelers and have no doubt I will return some day when Accenture is gone.

Cons

The place has been overrun by idiots from Accenture and they are running the place into the ground. They have elected to use JAVA as the platform for the future .... they have also selected SeeBeyond as one of their weapons of choice .... mostly because Accenture is a preferred vendor of this garbage. No one would buy or use this junk without a gun at their heads (or enormous kickbacks ... e.g. 'preferred vendor'). Accenture has delivered nothing on time and nothing anywhere close to the original budgets. Coupled with monumental steps back in technology and reusable code ... this place is going down the tubes.

Pros

I love working for Travelers. It has a strong culture built on integrity and collaboration. Leadership is visible, accessible, and genuinely invested in the success of the business and its employees. There are real opportunities to grow your career here — the company promotes from within and supports professional development in meaningful ways. I've seen colleagues advance significantly, and I've had the same opportunity myself. Travelers truly cares about its customers and the value insurance brings. Great team atmosphere and tremendous co-workers. **Cons:** The pace is fast and the workload can be demanding, especially in Claims. This is not a 9-to-5 environment, and candidates should come in knowing that. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. **Advice to Management:** Keep doing what you're doing. The culture and leadership here are genuinely differentiated — don't lose that as the company continues to grow.

Cons

I don't consider it a con but some might - the pace is fast and the workload can be challenging, especially in Claims. Company is cutting edge so you should be prepared for change and continuous development to meet the business environment. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. If you like to be challenged this is a great place to have a career.
