Pros

Dow Jones listed company with many transplants from local insurance companies. Conservative investment portfolio, so no Bear Stearns types of risky investing that can wipe out employee pension plans or 401k match promises. PLUS --- they sell a product that is mandated by the US Govt so, everyone needs to have it. Great company LOGO (red umbrella)

Cons

You may land with really good people and a competent boss and have a rewarding experience. OR, you may not. It makes all the difference.

Pros

I love working for Travelers. It has a strong culture built on integrity and collaboration. Leadership is visible, accessible, and genuinely invested in the success of the business and its employees. There are real opportunities to grow your career here — the company promotes from within and supports professional development in meaningful ways. I've seen colleagues advance significantly, and I've had the same opportunity myself. Travelers truly cares about its customers and the value insurance brings. Great team atmosphere and tremendous co-workers. **Cons:** The pace is fast and the workload can be demanding, especially in Claims. This is not a 9-to-5 environment, and candidates should come in knowing that. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. **Advice to Management:** Keep doing what you're doing. The culture and leadership here are genuinely differentiated — don't lose that as the company continues to grow.

Cons

I don't consider it a con but some might - the pace is fast and the workload can be challenging, especially in Claims. Company is cutting edge so you should be prepared for change and continuous development to meet the business environment. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. If you like to be challenged this is a great place to have a career.
