Pros

Decent pay and PTO Good benefits Manageable workload

Cons

The return to the office mandate is all over the place. Claim handlers will continue to do exactly what they were doing before COVID which is 3 days working from home and 2 in office per week. They’ve made no adjustments and are allowing no flexibility to this except in the case of “extreme hardship”. Any new employees hired into claim will only be allowed to work 2 days a week from home going forward, despite the rest of their department being allowed 3 days. The rest of the company outside of claim is also doing only 2 days a week from home. It’s shocking that we’ve been successfully working from home for a year and a half by the time we return in September and it feels like the work from home rules have gotten even more strict. Really disappointed in the company’s approach. They also continue to harp on how they think everyone wants to return to the office. I’ve not spoken to a single coworker eager to return in any capacity.

Pros

I love working for Travelers. It has a strong culture built on integrity and collaboration. Leadership is visible, accessible, and genuinely invested in the success of the business and its employees. There are real opportunities to grow your career here — the company promotes from within and supports professional development in meaningful ways. I've seen colleagues advance significantly, and I've had the same opportunity myself. Travelers truly cares about its customers and the value insurance brings. Great team atmosphere and tremendous co-workers. **Cons:** The pace is fast and the workload can be demanding, especially in Claims. This is not a 9-to-5 environment, and candidates should come in knowing that. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. **Advice to Management:** Keep doing what you're doing. The culture and leadership here are genuinely differentiated — don't lose that as the company continues to grow.

Cons

I don't consider it a con but some might - the pace is fast and the workload can be challenging, especially in Claims. Company is cutting edge so you should be prepared for change and continuous development to meet the business environment. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. If you like to be challenged this is a great place to have a career.
