Pros
Free medical/dental, free travel, free education, free technical training in your chosen trade that'll contribute toward a college degree, free housing and food (in the form of allowances added to paycheck) and you get paid to do it all.
Cons
Not a perfect system. Lots of disconnect between the work force and the leadership levels. Continually getting better, but it's a very slow process.
