Pros
They offer a good way for you to get an education if you chose to do so. The have excellent medical and dental coverage. They train you "from sratch" nd prepare you for your job. Promotion are time and knowledge based but fairly given by a test.
Cons
They do not pay as well as competitors would pay for certain type of knowledge. he USAF pays you for the rank you have not how much you know. I could know much more about the job than my boss, but get paid less. I could would with computers and get paid the same as another person handing out towels in the gym.
