Pros
Health care benefits, Dental and eye care, Good job security and decent salary. Add in free gym access, non-taxable housing and subsistence benefits and you have a good package. Access to the Commissary and Exchange make shopping less expensive in many places than on the open economy. Promotions require work, but until Senior ranks are based on your will to study and test decently on Air Force and Career-field specific information.
Cons
Deployments take you away from your family, work tempo can require long work hours, and senior leadership can be out of touch with the issues affecting those who work for them sometimes. You have to give up some freedoms and make yourself subject to additional layers of governing policies and requirements.
