Pros

Benefits, learning opportunity, community events

Cons

I worked at the Rexdale location in Ontario for over a year. The work environment appeared highly strained, with ongoing tension between union employees and management. There were notable concerns regarding the level of experience, professionalism, and leadership effectiveness among most of the senior leadership team on site with inadequate monitoring from the global team. Additionally, the workload for salaried employees was consistently very high, leading to signs of burnout among staff. Overall, there were evident gaps in leadership capability at the site level, which appeared to impact team morale, communication, and operational effectiveness. I do not recommend this location of Unilever even if the salary is double the market.

Pros

Working with brands you grew up with is really exciting! The people I have met have all been amazing as well!

Cons

Everyone I have talked to are overworked and feel underpaid and despite the amount of work they do, there is no recognition or appreciation. Upper management is a mess and UL is constantly restructuring, often going from new BACK to the old structure while simultaneously letting people go leaving more people overworked. While most people are amazing, there are a few micromanagers where expectations are unknown. In addition, the lack of communication is awful. Often, I hear about certain cuts through the vine rather than directly from the people involved
