Design Consultant/ Sales Associate - Anonymous employee Urban Barn Employee Review

- Rude assistant managers/managers: Humiliation infront of customers, yelling, degradation towards employees, superiority complex from managers - Unflexible hours. Working hours would be decided by management without asking employees of their schedule first. Certain days employees were "forced" to be present but without asking if we were available. - Low wages and low commissions - Frequent fights between management and staff over commissions. - Employees expected to lift very heavy furniture on their own. Urban barn would not hire anyone external to help lift heavy furniture into vehicles etc. - Heavy manual labour expected including mopping floors, vaccuming the entire store (approx 2-3000 square feet), taking out garbage etc. with no support and for minimum wage. (There are cleaning companies that charge several hundred dollars for this type of work.)
