Disgusting company - Sales Associate Urban Outfitters Employee Review

Everything, particularly management. Management are extremely cliquey, lazy and overall just nasty. They enjoy to sit in their office all day chatting, eating snacks and spying on sales associates on CCTV while announcing demands down the radios for all customers to hear. Management completely understaff busy locations, their staff turnover is so high they can’t hire enough in time! Your not allowed water on the shop floor or to use the bathroom when you need it so prepare to feel extremely uncomfortable and unwell every shift. You have to ask to do these things like small children and even then sometimes the answer will be no. Management can be extremely rude and even other ex staff have had to make reports to HR because of the way they've been treated. Don’t expect to have a life outside work while hired because your scheduled hours will be double your contact and managers will refuse to lower them, even when you have university to attend outside of this. People get scheduled on days that were never part of their availability and managers refuse to sort it out and threaten you with termination if you don’t turn up. Holiday request forms are all on paper and on paper for a reason so they can all suddenly go “missing” for weeks and then turn up again unsigned when it’s too late to request the date off. Even when you do have the dates signed off managers ignore this and ring you up constantly on the day asking where you are. Overall problem is the managers and how they run the shop to fit them and their lousy lifestyles and treat the rest like utter dirt. In addition pay isn’t a single penny above minimum wage which is disgraceful considering the work load and awful compared to other retail jobs which are almost always slightly above minimum.
