Pros

Save ur back by not having a physical demanind job. Low exposure to germs. You don't have to do total pt care. Talk alot with family. Talk alot with doctors. Visit various hospitals, homes, SNF, board and cares, and assissted living. Well funded. Huge company. Huge!!!! Nationwide huge!!!!

Cons

You learn that the company only cares about the income and the numbers. As a nurse, you are only a number. You are replaceable. They thread borderline with violating pts rights by giving them no choice to sign consents especially when they are in the hospital. We are told to cater to what they want. Dying pts are allowed to have curative treatments such as chemo, immunotherapy, diaysis which contradicts true "hospice care." They are like predators in the community with representatives and liasons catering to case managers with treats and provide false promises to their patients. Again they thread borderline with violating pts rights. Don't get manangement mad. You will always be pressured to do more. Nothing is enough... Liasons and Reps do get bonuses depending the length of stay of their pts that they help admit. They use car sales man techniques that take advantage of dying people in their most vulnerable state and profit every penny from medicare and also are for profit that is publicly traded in the stock market. This company will make you examine your personal values... How much can you push yourself? Micromanagers that also throw tantrums like babies when their numbers are not high enough. Abusive relationship with their staff. You will last if u can stomach their tactics to admit patience.

Pros

Rewarding to help patients and families. No direct patient contact. Good clinical support.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement. Non clinical leadership lacking understanding as to what Triage Nurses do and that not all calls are the same. Management by Exception practiced based on favoritism. Revolving door of Triage Nurses leaving and new hires requiring weeks of training resulting in the department being chronically understaffed.
