I worked at virtual facility for over a year before I departed.
It recently came to my attention that they were voted as one of the best places to work at in 2021. This is an incredibly far departure from my experience, so I am sharing this here as an honest reflection of my time with them.
That said, it was very poorly managed. Upper management holds a tight fist over every aspect of product development, so at every stage of my time here, I had my decisions questioned and I never felt that I was trusted to do the job I was hired to do. I was once asked to work on a weekend and made to felt inferior that I wasn't.
Additionally, the CEO touted "unlimited PTO" as a benefit but then complained when I took time off, despite the fact that I delivered more than my share of my team's work. This place is a total dictatorship. Pushback and constructive criticism with regards to process efficiency, team morale, or culture were seen as negative and it was extremely frustrating and exhausting working here. You will be gaslit, berated, and restricted here with no promise of professional development.
Take note that a significant number of employees have come and gone through Virtual Facility's doors in a short period of time - this should be warning enough.
