Pros

If you like solving complex problems in a fast paced environment, this is a great place to be. You get to solve interesting problems at scale.

Cons

The new leadership team continues to mismanage their talent. They do not promote diversity in the work force, and they openly talk about wanting to hire younger candidates, which is a concern for those associates who are more experienced or have families. There is no respect for the individual, and work/life balance is not supported. This leadership team has created an almost hostile work environment and unfortunately, few people are willing to give feedback for fear of retaliation. Despite the fact that I believe in Walmart and the business that Sam Walton created, I would NOT recommend Walmart eCommerce as a place to work because they clearly have divested themselves from the values that Mr Walton believed in.

Thanks for leaving us feedback. We rely on this feedback, so we can improve. It's great to hear you've found interesting and fast paced projects here. And it's true, the problems associates' solve on a daily basis have enormous scale, and lead to improving the lives of millions of customers every day. One of our guiding values at Walmart is respect for the individual and it's disappointing you're not experiencing that - that's not the type of organization we strive to be. Walmart values associates from all backgrounds and at all levels - and diversity in hiring continues to be a high priority. Furthermore, Walmart prohibits discrimination in employment, employment-related decisions or in business dealings on the basis of an individual’s race, color, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, ethnicity, national origin, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or any other status protected by law or local policy. If you have any concerns regarding discrimination, you can contact Walmart Global Ethics at https://www.walmartethics.com/reportaconcern.aspx# or call 1-800-WM-ETHIC. Or if you feel comfortable doing so, please send your feedback directly to me. I assure you we have a zero tolerance for retaliation. - Melinda Greene, Director, HR (Associate Relations)

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
