Pros

- Many nights with minimal human contact - Good exercise - Night shift attracts some colorful characters - The managers: one was fun and laid-back, almost too much; another was reasonable and approachable, listened to her employees

Cons

- Many nights with minimal human contact - Perpetually understaffed, frequently given tasks to complete on my own that needed two or more people to complete withing a reasonable time - The work can be very monotonous - If you do this job long enough you will likely develop physical problems (back problems very common among coworkers who'd been working there 5+ years) - The managers: one had a nervous breakdown and abruptly quit, one loved to scream and humiliate at the slightest provocation, another gave preferential treatment to "the hot girls" - Some characters are...too colorful (creepy old perverts, drug addicts/alcoholics, pot-stirrers and drama queens) - Unpredictable schedules and hours cut (I was given 40 hours + while coworkers were cut down to part-time)

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
