If you’re not in management’s good graces, don’t expect fair treatment. • No Recognition, Just Criticism – Exceed expectations? No one notices. Fall slightly short? Immediate chastisement. • Customer Service Hurts Your Metrics – Helping customers (as corporate promotes) actually lowers your performance scores because it slows you down. • Promotions Are a Joke – Climbing the ladder is about playing politics and sucking up, not hard work or leadership.
