Pros
- Good pay for some levels. If you are high enough you will be satisfied. This is also visible during quarter surveys. Guys with level 5+ are very glad to work at wayfair. - They try to improve our life, but....
Cons
- Extremely hard to grow. See pros point about level 5+. It is impossible to grow to this level without nepotizm. Wayfair hires 5+ only outside and this is not fair. Result - people are leaving. "We will hire more HR guys to cover this loss" - nice answer from the top company manager. - Performance review - good too see this show, but not participate. - Company and infra are trying to build a self service infrastructure. Now, this aspect is better, than several years ago. However, this self service is strange and to get there you have to spend tons of time and submit a lot of tickets. Even having a self service, your application is sitting on top of the common infrastructure and if something is broken (often case) - your app is affected too and it is hard to recognize what is going on. - People who are the progress pushers and who can say "NO" are leaving this company. People who are silenced and who are looking for a new opportunity to leave still are working here. This situation even more degrades the quality of services. Oh, yes, I forgot. Levels 5+ still are working here happily. They talk a lot "Blah blah blah", but results are not impressive.
