Pros

Lots of independence and friendly vibe. Clients tend to be tiny mom-and-pop businesses new to using technology and you form a good working relationship with them. The all company trips were a nice touch to meet remote team members.

Cons

The WeTravel team is very young and almost no one has professional experience outside of university internships. My understanding is that because of the lack of funding/profit the company depends on staffing with low paid entry level workers that have good intentions and do their best, but are basically walking blindly and getting little guidance and mentorship. Since leaving WeTravel I've joined another startup and it's like night and day. In my new position more junior employees are strategically placed on diverse teams to gain experience, learn and grow, a technique I would encourage WeTravel management to do seeing they hire true seasoned professionals one day.

Pros

Love the people here—great management and supportive team members. The culture is genuinely positive, with great work-life balance that’s actually respected (you don’t feel guilty taking time off). Unlimited PTO is a huge plus. The product is strong and continually improving, and it’s exciting to be in such an inspiring industry as a salesperson. There’s a lot of commission potential if you’re organized and on top of your game. Sales targets are reasonable, and the company is growing fast, which means plenty of opportunity to learn, collaborate across teams, and take ownership of projects. If you care, and put the effort in, you will be successful!

Cons

Lots of cold calling (comes with the territory in sales). With the company growing so quickly, there can sometimes be confusion or overlap around who owns certain creative processes and responsibilities. The base salary is on the lower side, and the ramp bonus could be structured more realistically to support the natural seasonality of the industry and the slower ramp period for new reps. At times, organizational goals can feel a bit disconnected, for example, sales targets may not always account for industry seasonality, and a more unified vision would help align teams.

Pros

- Office perks and prizes for contests - Seems like a friendly place for people who belong - Commuters benefits were great - Large organization to meet people from different countries

Cons

- Not many team members for Onboarding support - Management seems to only invest and care to mainly support people they like - Very white culture - Does not follow through with promise that if you work hard, you get more autonomy - Even if your numbers are talking, they want you to behave the way they want you to behave
